David La Pour named “Best Teacher” by Golf Digest Magazine

Wilton, CT – October 23, 2017 – David La Pour of Colleton River Club in Bluffton South Carolina, has been named one of the ‘Best Teachers in South Carolina 2017-2018” by Golf Digest magazine. He has received this honor, that is through a peer review process, every year since 2013. Additionally he was selected as the PGA Teacher of the Year for the Carolina Section/HHI Chapter in 2013.

The article, which appears in the magazine’s November 2017 edition, lists the top golf instructors in the country, along with their affiliations and hourly lesson rates. Golf Digest prepares the list every two years, polling more than 1,000 teaching professionals for their opinions on their peers. It is the only list of top teachers voted on by the teachers themselves.

“I’m very honored to be named among the top golf instructors in South Carolina, and especially proud that this recognition is a show of support from my fellow golf instructors,” La Pour said.

David has been a PGA Golf Professional for 26 years including eight years with Dave Pelz, created the WP Golf Institute in St. Paul Minnesota (5 yrs.), and currently is the Director of Instruction at Colleton River Club (9 yrs.) in Bluffton South Carolina.

About David – As a class A PGA Member since 1991, David has worked in several different positions in the golf industry including Assistant Golf Professional, Head Golf Professional, and Director of Instruction (Colleton River)/ David started teaching exclusively with David Pelz in 1996, and after 8 years with Pelz, created the WP Golf Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota (2003). In 2008, David accepted the position of Director of Instruction for Colleton River Club.

David has appeared on The Golf Channel six times, as well as ESPN. He has published numerous instructional articles, 12 “Managing Your Golf Game” instructional shows and has worked with tour players such as Bill Glasson, K.J. Choi, Ty Tryon, John Harris, Miguel Angel Martin, Mike Sullivan, Tom Shaw, Wayne McDonald and Melissa McNamara.

Acquiring his TrackMan Masters status in 2014, David also uses Titleist Performance Institute (Level 2 Golf Fitness Instructor), Apple/JC-Video and Tour Tempo to help his students success.
